I don’t think anybody can argue that Stephen King doesn’t understand the process of creation and inspiration. What you really need is consistent effort and hard work. Inspiration will show up on its own.
I will use my own experience as an example. I spend a lot of time reading and listening to podcasts. I pay attention to things I hear and see around the world. Usually, I have more ideas than I can act on.
Hard work will lead to inspiration. Keep your eyes and ears open, and you will end up with your own ideas.
