Do you ever jump on a project and work hard for a little bit, but then lose interest? Personally, I am the master of constantly chasing new, shiny objects. It’s fun, but it’s also a road to nowhere.
If you want to accomplish your goals, you have to see your projects through to completion. Motivation will get you only so far. Instead, rely on habits. Even a small act, repeated daily over a long period of time, will eventually create a noticeable change. Don’t believe me? Here is an example from nature: in Trzesacz, Poland, there is a church that was built in 14th/ 15th century almost 2km from the sea. No natural disasters have ever hit that church, except for one: little by little, the sea is stealing away a little bit of the the beach. Currently, only one of the walls of the church is still standing and, soon enough, it will also fall victim of the sea.
Moral of the story? You may be far from your goal, but if you make dents every day, you will get to your goal. You just have to rely on your habits and work hard!
