One of my pet peeves: when people say ‘you are so lucky’!
Do you know how long it took to achieve that ‘overnight success’? Think of it as finishing a marathon: all people see is you on the final stretch. They don’t see the 26 miles that led to that final stretch, let alone hundreds of miles ran when everybody was sleeping, when it was hot, or cold, or raining. Short of winning a lottery (which, history shows, is a mixed blessing), success takes a lot of work.
Is there luck involved? Yes, we all need a lucky break every now and then. But that doesn’t mean you didn’t have to work really, really hard to let that luck find you.
Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see immediate success. Keep working. You will get there!
