What are you doing with your time? Are you spending it on sitting in front of tv or endlessly scrolling through social media or are you investing it in yourself?
We all say we don’t have time for reading, exercise, to learn something. And in some cases it’s true (I remember having a newborn, although from perspective of time: I should have listened to audiobooks or podcasts during those endless hours), but for most, that’s not precisely true. We just choose to spend it on activities that don’t move us forward, like social media, tv or some nonsense that doesn’t bring in anything positive to our lives (self-care is necessary and if that’s how you recharge, please do!).
Try reframing your view on time. Invest it on yourself. When planning your time, first think of your long term goals, then come up with steps to get there and make them part of your daily activities – whether it’s on a to-do list or calendar. Maybe one day of Japanese lessons on Duolingo feels like playing a game, but give it a few months and who knows, maybe you will be able to ask for replacement chopsticks in Japanese next time you go out for sushi?
So remember: to manage your time, think of it as an investment!
